It is exciting as summer draws to an end and we expect to get more of our core raiders returning to a normal schedule once they settle back into a routine. Kids back into the swing of things with school, or students get the comfort level back as they get used to the new semester, or even as the season will change (eventually) with cooler temps and less sunlight in the evenings as we move forward will drive more steady attendance.
We've seen success with 25m GDKP. Success to me is that week in and week out we still had those in CS that wanted to raid had the opportunity to raid in CS style all summer long. It's been mentioned that the payout on those runs has not been a gold mine, but I think server wide as so many have closed the gear gap this late in this expansion that across the board the normal GDKP has more geared and less buyers. The only payday GDKP's out there are 25m HM's that require both 5.8k gs and 10k gold, and they pay out big. For our purposes, the CS 25m GDKP was a complete success.
Now we have to get back to using sign ups and preparing for full CS raids. Prepared means knowing encounters, being signed up, knowing the CS Charter, and having the right attitude.
We will be saving the 10m LK Raid ID until he is dead, and for that effort we will be choosing and building that kill squad. Once dead we will work raiders through the team but we need everyone to check their emotions at the door as we build this for CS, we want all to have the title, but in an effort to not step on toes we've yet to kill him. |

Summer is moving along and we are where I thought we would be, maybe better, maybe worse, it just depends on the day.
I knew we would take the summer hit; lose people to all the good and bad things summer has to offer and it turns out we are short about 10 of our core raiding force. Some recruiting helped that number some and it has kept us afloat enough to run guild events like our new CS sponsored GDKP's while still some raiders choose to raid to better other guilds.
All in all we have stayed active, made slight progress, and if we continue to work towards each other's success then we will come out of a summer a little less beat than most summers.
Grom might be back in August as his visitors leave and Sel will be away for most of August as she spends some timer with her family. Lucan will fill in as acting AGM for me in Sel's absence, so that gives some of us something to look forward to as I suspect he may kick himself from the guild when he says something crazy. |

Summer has been particularly difficult for us this year, with Cataclysm expected sometime later this fall it is always a slow time in the world of Azeroth. This doesn't mean CS isn't still on the move. Our 10 mans are consistently taking down Putricide and Sindragosa has been kind enough to give us loot on quite a few occasions.
This last Tuesday we decided to try out a guild hosted GDKP, 7/12 down and 2k in everyone's pockets. GDKPs are likely to be seen in the future whenever summer attendance has us in a bind but we want in on that 25man content. With Ruby Sanctum launched we're still trying to stay focused on that Kingslayer title though off-night groups for it are encouraged.
A new Raider Rank chart should be up soon to make tracking easier for everyone to see and maintain so keep an eye out for that in the near future. See you in game! |

Corrupted Spirit takes on Sindragosa and downs her, moving on to the Lich King himself. Keep it up folks, he can't last forever!

Chillin' with the man...

Two groups went in this past week and tackled Professor Putricide, both scoring a kill after a couple of attempts. That brings both of our primary 10 man groups to 10/12 for ICC. Grats to everyone present and thank you for all your work. Now, off to slay the dragon!

I would like to take a moment to congratulate and welcome old and new officers to their stations. A lot of times our officers deal with plenty of thankless tasks that go unrecognized.
Your newly appointed leadership under our revised charter includes:
- Axilles
- Legionlock
- Poacher
- Cithian
- Talamus
- Lucan
The charter outlines the responsibilities of the entire guild membership. As we take a deeper look into the leadership body, I want to highlight the divvying of tasks out across all officers to lighten the load of some and provide greater flexibility when things need to get done.
Some of the new positions include these duties:
Trial Member Management Responsible for managing dates of trial members, their votes, and a point of contact for additional information. This will help drive the new membership and partnering of trial members with Charter Members as described in the charter.
Site Management Responsibilities include assisting the GM and AGM on tasks involving the website, facebook status, forums, member registration, user groups, user ranks, and access permissions. We chose to create this position to better keep the membership up to date with the most current information possible.
Raid Officers Raid Officers choose the raid content, destination, strategies and other aspects of the guild's raid environment. Raid Officers are also responsible for appointing the Raider rank to members deserving of it. Raid Officers will review logs for specific feedback to individuals wanting to maintain or achieve the Raider rank. This is heavily involved in keeping the raid force strong. Raid Officers are directly in charge of choosing Raid Leaders.
Raid Management Raid Managers utilize the Raid Manager in order to handle DKP and loot distribution. We've discovered in the past that managing every aspect of raiding is too overwhelming for one individual to hand and still enjoy raiding.
These new roles will help to position GM and AGM to be free more of the time for members of the guild without sacrificing their more essential duties. |
